Burrrr!
We just had a hard frost and that dropped water temps a bunch. The Lamoille trib I guided yesterday was 45 degrees. Ouch. The good news is this week looks rather warm with most days pushing air temps over 60 degrees. That combined with the good water flows I think we are set up for a great week of fishing. If anything, the Lamoille is a bit high but very fishable. Yesterday, we caught wild rainbows on copper johns and PT nymphs. There was no bugs on the surface and no fish rising. We did spook a large brown that was mostly likely not a resident. We got only 2 to the net and missed another 5 fish. Nothing crazy but not bad fishing considering conditions at the time. Starting mid week things will warm up and the fishing should too. 2 weeks left so, get out and enjoy.
