The big story this week was the rain that fell over the past couple days. While we were able to get out and land some nice fish on Wed/Thurs, Friday was really messy and there was not a bunch of fishable water out there. The Lamoille and Winooski are both flowing over 1000cfs as I write this. Things are slowly settling out now and the weather looks to remain seasonable cool and mostly dry into next week. Until water recedes, streamers will be at the end of my fly pole. When the water does come down, fish should be looking up and eating blue wings. Anyway, this rain was needed and should move some of our local fish around as well as Lake Champlain migratory fish who have been waiting for some decent flows to make their way up feeders. September is probablyly my favorite month to fish VT. Get out and enjoy it!
