This fly has produced some of the nicest fish we have ever caught! Big browns, Steelhead, and even Chinooks have been enticed by this Sucker Spawn imitation. In recent years, we have found it to also provide great success on Vermont's Northeast Kingdom Steelhead. Go ahead...see for yourself.
Suggested Materials: Hook - Tiemco 2457 or similar (Size 8-12) Thread - Pink or color to match egg yarn (Size 6/0 or stronger) Body - Cheese Egg Yarn Flash - Krystal Flash

Tie in thread towards front of hook, working back towards hook bend

Tie in 2 strands of Krystal Flash at mid shank and wrap thread back towards hook bend

Tie in half strand of Egg Yarn

Step 4
Advance thread 3-4 wraps forward and pull yarn/flash forward to create small loop in Egg Yarn. Tie in using pinch-wrap and add 2-3 turns of thread in place to secure loop

Repeat this process 4-6 times toward hook eye depending on hook size *Note- Increase loop size towards middle and decrease as you near hook eye

Whip finish and apply head cement *Optional - Go back and cut all Krystal Flash loops in half
