This is Steve Stanley's version of the "Trophy Wife" as originally designed by Thomas Harvey. This is certainly a multi-species fly that can be done in various color combinations.

Stanley's Bass Worm is a simple pattern to tie and has incredible action that bass can't resist. This pattern can be tied in endless color combinations to attract bass, trout and even saltwater fish.

Several years ago, I walked into Eldredge Bros Fly Shop in Cape Neddick, ME (eldredgeflyshop.com/) and I was instantly impressed with how they displayed their flies on foam boards instead of jammed into small fly bins where their aesthetic qualities would be mostly un-noticed.
One of the flies I purchased that day was the Guitar Minnow, designed by Jim Berstein of Eldredge Bros to act as a wounded baitfish with weight forward lead eyes and rabbit fur gills.
This is a deadly pattern for multiple species including Striped Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Trout and LL Salmon.
My version of this pattern uses bucktail for tailing material and I substitute Steve Farrar's Flash Blend instead of an all buck tail wing because I live that material.
Make sure to swing by Eldredge Bros. next time your in Cape Neddick where you can buy the original guitar minnow directly from the source!
Huge thanks to DJ Ryan Howard for supplying the beats for this vid... sound cloud.com/ryan-howard

Lefty Kreh invented the Deceiver pattern in the 50's as a baitfish imitation that would cast easily in to the wind and not foul around the hook. The original Deceiver was an all white pattern, but this fly can be tied in numerous different colors to imitate whatever baitfish you're after.
This articulated version utilizes Ice Dub Shimmer Fringe for a dark, iridescent body material as well as a Fish Skull Mask to add to the realistic appeal of the fly.

The Squizerd is the fly you need when the bass are looking for a super slow retrieve. It is also a great fly for heavy cover and when you need your fly to suspend just under the surface.

This is my version of a Bonefish Scampi tied with black painted lead eyes for when you need it to sink fast. You can substitute bead chain eyes for a slower, more delicate presentation. Use a good quality rabbit strip so you get the most "motion without movement" while the fly is sitting. Don't forget to use stainless hooks sizes 2-6.
A super simple pattern that's effective and that's why I like it!

Steve came up with this fly while spending time in Xcalak, Mexico chasing bonefish and permit. This is a great shallow water fly for those picky flats fish!

This fly came about by combining two different flies, a Woolhead sculpin and a Whitlocks sculpin. The result was the RamSkull. If you are looking to catch some bass, pike or a lunker trout this is the fly to do it with.

We sell the Crystal Zonker here at GMT in a variety of colors, but the white featured in this video is probably the best-selling color. This pattern is super easy to tie and there are plenty of twists that can be added to modify the fly to your specific needs. This simple, stripped down zonker uses only 2 materials and catches fish!

Why just fish a single baitfish pattern when you can fish 2 at once?!
Here's Stanley's version of a tried and tested pattern times 2 in a baby smallmouth color.
Like any bucktail minnow, the color options are endless.

The Boehm's Gurgler was designed by S.S. Flies (ssflies.com/product.php?p=60) originally as a tarpon fly, but snook, striped bass and freshwater bass also love gurgler-style flies, and this one is no exception! What I really like about this fly is the ingenious monofilament ant-foul guard for the rabbit strip.
I think I'll be using this technique on a lot more of my rabbit-strip flies in the future and an assortment of these gurglers will be in my box for this year's Ditch Pickle Classic (dpcvt.com)
My version is slightly different than the original which uses cross-cut rabbit for the collar. I use saddle hackle in it's place. I also used Cactus Chenille vs. Krystal Chenille, but either does the trick.

The Zuddler (part muddler, part zonker) is a tried and tested pattern that has been around for a while. Here in our neck of the woods in Northern Vermont, this particular variation tied by Mike Kontos has been doing some damage on the local trout streams. The color options are endless. Just make sure to use fliexible, double-sided razor blades that can be found in most drug stores.

I recently tied a couple of these Zudbubbler poppers in the yellow color for a small mouth outing on one of my favorite reservoirs here in Vermont. The fish went nuts over this thing! The fly got it's second test on Lake Champlain during some Ditch Pickle Classic pre-fishing. They didn't only want it, they chased it until they got it! Zudbubbler heads come in a variety of colors, all available here at the shop. I'll be tying an assortment for the Pickle on 6/27-28, 2015! www.dpcvt.com

I've seen a fly called, "Carp Candy" in many different variations. Many resemble the very popular bonefish fly, the "Gotcha" and some are tied heavier and called "Super Gotcha" or "Bonefish Scampi.) This is my version of the "Carp Candy" tied with rabbit strip and and heavy lead eyes. I've fished this pattern for years but never have thrown this fly at a carp. However, it was the hot fly for me at this year's Ditch Pickle Classic (www.DPCVT.com). It's a super easy tie with a jiggy motion that the smallies seem to love!

Everyone knows that classic hairwing patterns work great for land locked atlantic salmon. I decided to put a modern twist on some of these classics by putting on synthetic wings....great action, great color, great durability...oh and they catch fish too!
